Lac du Laouzas: Calme et quiétude, ouverture sur l'espace....

Le motonautisme étant absent, la voile et la baignade dominent les activités nautiques avec le canoë et les kayaks. C'est aussi un point de départ de plus en plus recherché pour les randonnées VTT, équestres et pédestres. Les parcours pédestres séduisent autant randonneurs familiaux que sportifs.

Les traditions du terroir, dont le Musée de Rieumontagné est la belle vitrine, revivent chaque été grâce à une animation partagée avec les anciens.

La base de loisirs du lac gère un dispositif d'accueil, de réservations, d'activités et d'animations.

The lake of Laouzas: peace, quiet, and lots of space...

...those are the main characteristics of the lake of Laouzas, which is situated at a height of 800 m and is set among beautiful woods and hills: a wonderful area for a holiday in the Haut-Languedoc.

You can sun-bathe on the beach, have a relaxed swim or enjoy a tour by sailing boat or canoe, in especially safe conditions because motorised water sports are not allowed. The lake of Laouzas is also a wonderful centre for bike trips (including ATB), horse rides, and of course hiking tours. Many walks are easy enough for the whole family but the environment offers also lots of challenge to more adventurous hikers. Fishermen, novice or advanced, will love to practise their skills and catch a perch, carp or trout in the lake of Laouzas or one or the numerous streams around. The regional traditions, which are attractively displayed in the museum of Rieumontagné, are revived each year for a special occasion in which the local people participate. The recreation centre at the lake of Laouzas also has chalets for rent (holiday accommodation); the tourist office deals with reservations. In addition, various activities and events are organized.

Het meer van Laouzas: rust, ruimte en ontspanning...

... dat zijn de belangrijkste kenmerken van het meer van Laouzas, dat op 800 meter hoogte wordt omringd door prachtige, bosrijke heuvels: een heerlijke plek om vakantie te houden in de Haut-Languedoc.

U kunt ontspannen zonnebaden op het strand, of zeilen, zwemmen, kanoën en waterfietsen. Rustig, want gemotoriseerde watervoertuigen zijn niet toegestaan. Het meer van Laouzas is ook een uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor fietstochten (zowel op de racefiets als op de ATB) en paardrijtochten. Uiteraard kunt u er ook lekker wandelen. Er zijn eenvoudige wandelroutes die u met het hele gezin kunt volbrengen, maar ook voor de sportieve wandelaars biedt de omgeving voldoende uitdaging. Zowel beginnende als gevorderde hengelaars kunnen hun vaardigheden toetsen op de baarzen, karpers en forellen in het meer van Laouzas of in een van de vele beken in de buurt. De streektradities, die tevens het thema vormen van de tentoonstelling in het museum van Rieumontagné, herleven tijdens een jaarlijks evenement waaraan de plaatselijke bevolking meedoet. Het recreatieterrein aan het meer van Laouzas omvat ook accommodatie, waaronder huisjes, waarvoor het Syndicat d'Initiative de reserveringen regelt. Verder worden er verschillende activiteiten en evenementen georganiseerd.
